SERVICES

Conference Services

Conference Services handles the entire information transaction process at the conference as well as logistics. They collect working papers from committees, format them properly and return copies of them to the committees for delegates to discuss. They also allow delegates from one committee to pass notes to delegates in a different committee through the "loop" system. Please keep in mind that all these notes are monitored and will be rejected if their content is deemed inappropriate. The most important task for conference services is putting together the final conference statement which contains all the resolutions, and reports written by FHSMUN committees. The paper version of the statement will contain the top two resolutions from each committee while a digital version (distributed after conference) will contain all reports and resolutions as well as pictures, maps and other materials. Conference Services is also in charge of ordering all merchandise for the conference including t-shirts and carnations that will be on sale at the conference. As far as internet access is concerned, FHSMUN does not provide internet access for delegates. Delegates who have questions about their topics can visit Home Government which will attempt to research any questions they may have. Home Government Staff officers are the only ones who will have authorized internet access. However, if delegates wish to access the internet, the hotel does provide a number of options for a fee, including: the hotel internet kiosk, wireless connection for laptops in the lobby and internet connections in the hotel rooms.

Home Government

FHSMUN's educational mission cannot be fulfilled successfully without the invaluable assistance provided by the conference organ specifically dedicated to research and direct academic support for committees, Home Government. Home Government political officers are tasked with assisting delegates by answering relevant policy questions, undertaking research requests by delegates and committee directors, and making informed presentations to committees about the topics. FHSMUN's Home Government Staff is larger than those featured at other conferences because their responsibilities and duties are far more extensive. The Home Government office will be located near the meeting rooms for the substantive committees and delegates should expect to see Home Government political officers answering questions and portraying missing delegates and expert speakers throughout the conference.
